Itzcuintliby ~Atlasfield

Itzcuintli mean Dog in Nahuatl. It came from a kind of mexican dog, it called Xololitzcuintli. If you see the last picture of Quetzalcoatl, in the rok of the left appear a strange icon, that is the representation of the Xolotl, is the God of the spirits, the thunder and he helped the deads for travel in the Mictlan, and curiously in anothers religions say if you care a dog, he will help you for across a "river" after you die of course (example in some local catolic traditions, islamic, the ancient egipt and others)

Here is a try for represent a warrior Cuachicqueh, and he wear only a kind of spear with obsidian, is called tepoztopilli.

And well with this picture I finish the first part of aztecs animals, In the next one I promise more animals and I´ll present situations and moments with characters, I have plans of add the football game, the Noche Triste (sad night) and others. And... Of course on this I leave a hint for the next picture, is too hard indeed, only the people who wish investigate will find the answer. ^^

Itzcuintli significa perro en nahuatl. La palabra viene deribada de una raza mexicana con el mismo nombre, o bien se les llama Xoloitzcuintle, y por alguna razón viene de variante "escuincle", o sea, como para insultar a los niños groseros o maldosos.

Si notaron en el dibujo anterior de Quetzalcoatl, a la derecha se ve una piedra con grabados, esa piedra es una representacion de un dios llamado Xolotl. Es el dios del relámpago, de las almas y éste ayuda a los muertos a que viajen sin problemas al Mictlan... curiosamente esta idea se repite en otras religiones, sobretodo por la creencia de que si cuidas a un perro con amor y todo eso, puede ayudarte a cruzar un "rio" a la hora de la muerte (esta idea se repite en algunas creencias catolicas locales (o sea varía), en los islámicos, los antiguos egipcios, entre otros)

En esta pintura se intentó representar a un guerrero Cuachicqueh, y lleva en esta ocasión un tipo de lanza de obsidiada a la que se le llama tepoztopilli.

Y... bueno con esta imagen termino la primera parte de mis dibujos aztecas con animales antropomorfos. En la proxima parte viene la otra parte que falta y también voy a crear algunas escenas cotidianas, por ejemplo el juego de pelota, la noche triste y otras que se me ocurran cuando pase el tiempo.

Y claro, en esta imagen hay una pista para el siguiente dibujo, pero solamente la sabrán aquellos que si se pongan a investigar ^^.

Pues está chido, sabemos que en México existe mucha cultura como lo comentas, aún así una de la más popular sin duda la cultura Maya de la cual aún se extienden ciertos enigmas.
